The Holistics are KK’s three large-scale works, created through a process of overlaying layers of magazines on abstract paintings that are then cut and peel, and finally overpainted with spray and acrylics. These poster-ensembles are the basis surfaces and the starting point for the creation of a drawing intervention using sfumato technique. The construction of a new multiple-layered imagery through a variety of destructive processes and the transformation of detritus from the urban landscape, aims to reflect the ideas of regeneration, redemption and liberation.

“This work was inspired by the walls of buildings from the urban landscape. My interest was toward the visual aspect of the infinite fragments of over layered and weathered posters which placement is mostly dictated by the element of chance. Those public constructions and destruction by the passage of time, creates something honest, true and real. I feel a sense of community and that we all are actors of the same transformative act.”
